What is Unbord?
Unbord is an integrated environment for learning and teaching.
Here, learning is not limited to watching a course, reading a book, or answering a few questions. You can discover something, learn, practice, create, discuss it, and continue your learning journey.
If you are a teacher or content creator, you can build your own learning path, create classes for learners, produce educational content and activities, assign tasks, track their progress, and use artificial intelligence to make parts of this process easier and faster.
If you are a learner, you can join your classes, follow learning paths, learn content, complete educational activities and assignments, work with Nuro on learning materials, earn experience points (XP) by completing activities, and track your progress.
Note: Unbord is not designed only for content or course management. Its goal is to connect learning, practice, creation, feedback, and progress tracking within a unified experience.
Why was Unbord created?
Today, the problem is not always a lack of educational content. We have access to countless books, courses, videos, podcasts, articles, and educational tools. Yet questions such as these still remain:
Where should I start? What is right for me? How can I learn it better? What should I do if I don't understand something? And what should I do after learning it?
Unbord was designed to bring these parts closer together.
That is why Unbord is not simply a library, bookstore, course website, or LMS. In this environment, content can be combined with smaller and interactive experiences such as wikis, flashcards, quizzes, videos, and interactions with Nuro to form a learning path.
Where did the Unbord story begin?
Unbord did not start as a completely new idea without any previous experience.
Before that, the team at Kelke Afkar had several years of experience developing and running Fekrooneh. Working with students, teachers, schools, academies, and educational organizations provided an opportunity to observe many digital education challenges in real-world environments; from how students interact with digital content to the role of teachers, gamification, and educational management needs.
These experiences were part of the journey that eventually led to the creation of Unbord.
How is Unbord different from a course website?
On a course website, the main part of your experience may be watching a series of videos or studying content.
In Unbord, an educational topic can be divided into different activities.
For example, when learning about the water cycle, you might:
- First read about the concept in a wiki;
- Watch a video about evaporation and condensation;
- Review important points using flashcards;
- Check your learning with a quiz;
- And think and discuss part of the topic with Nuro.
These activities can work together to form a learning path.
What can you do in Unbord?
Depending on whether you use Unbord as a learner, teacher, or learning-path creator, the features you work with will be different.
Throughout this guide, you will learn how to:
Build a learning path ← Create a class and add learners ← Create educational content and activities ← Get help from Nuro ← Learn and practice ← Review progress
Note: You will learn all of these features step by step throughout this guide.
What role does artificial intelligence play in Unbord?
Unbord's artificial intelligence assistant is called Nuro. Nuro can help you with both creating and learning in different parts of the platform.
For example, with Nuro you can:
Create quizzes, flashcards, and wikis, generate lesson plans, or work on a topic using methods such as the Socratic method, explanation, and debate. Nuro has two different roles in Unbord:
- For content creation: It helps you create educational content.
- For learning: It interacts with learners and helps them think about a topic, understand it better, or work on it.
